What is Midhana?

Midhana is a compact Islamic prayer time device that connects to any Bluetooth speaker to play the adhan (call to prayer) five times a day. It also provides a beautiful interface for displaying prayer times on any device.

How do I set up my Midhana device?

Setting up your Midhana device is simple: 1) Connect it to power via USB, 2) Connect it to your home Wi-Fi network following the included instructions, 3) Pair it with your Bluetooth speaker, and 4) Configure your location and prayer time preferences through the web interface.

Does Midhana work with any Bluetooth speaker?

Yes, Midhana is compatible with virtually any Bluetooth speaker. It uses standard Bluetooth protocols to connect and deliver high-quality adhan audio.

Does Midhana receive software updates?

Yes, Midhana receives automatic over-the-air (OTA) updates that improve functionality and add new features, even after purchase.

How does Midhana calculate prayer times?

Midhana uses precise astronomical calculations based on your location. You can choose from various calculation methods including Muslim World League, Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Egyptian General Authority of Survey, and others.

Can I customize which adhans reciter to use?

Currently only Al Afasy is supported. We are working on adding more reciters in the future and these will be automatically available as over the air updates to your device.

Does Midhana require an internet connection?

Midhana requires internet connection for prayer time updates every morning before Fajr. This ensures you will always have the latest and most accurate prayer times.

Can I use Midhana with multiple devices?

Yes, while the Midhana hardware connects to one Bluetooth speaker at a time, the prayer time interface can be accessed from any device on your network through a web browser. Many of our users display these on always-on tablets or smart TVs that are connected to their Wi-Fi network.

What happens if my internet connection is lost?

If internet connectivity is temporarily lost, Midhana will continue to function with its last known settings and time. When connectivity is restored, it will automatically resynchronize.

What's included in the Midhana package?

The Midhana package includes the Midhana device (based on Raspberry Pi Zero W) with an SD card with our software pre-installed, a power adapter, detailed setup instructions, and access to the Midhana web interface. A Bluetooth speaker is not included and must be purchased separately.

Can I request new features or improvements?

Yes! We love hearing from our users and working on improving the Midhana experience.
